What are some of the risks of becoming an owner?

Many times, becoming a homeowner is a dream that absorbs most of the family savings and requires borrowing a debt that will likely be in place for most of the buyer’s lifetime.

The biggest risk is that in the event of the death, incapacity, or retirement of the buyer, the home may need to be sold.

In order to mitigate this risk and look to the future with confidence, the buyer should undertake an in-depth analysis of his personal financial situation.  This is often best done by a Mortgage broker/advisor, the consequence of which is to decide on how better to cover the above-mentioned risks.
